Schedule

The schedule for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for homeporting additional surface ships at Naval Station Mayport began with the publication of the Notice of Intent on November 14, 2006. The EIS process is expected to continue through late 2008. As the following milestones are reached (see tentative dates, below), additional information will be posted to this website.

• Notice of Intent: Published November 14, 2006
• Public Scoping Period: November 14 through December 29, 2006
• Draft EIS: March 28, 2008
• Public Review and Comment Period: March 28 through May 27, 2008 (60 days)
• Public Hearing: April 16, 2008
• Final EIS: November 21, 2008
• 30-day Waiting Period completed: December 22, 2008
• Record of Decision: Signed January 14, 2009
